Dear Parent,

Thank you for your interest in The American Legion Boys’ State/ ALA Girls State program. These are two of the most vital programs the American Legion Family has to offer. Designed for male/female high school juniors, these programs allow students the opportunity to experience the operation of our government on the city, state, and national level with a hands on approach.

This year’s session will be held at St. Andrew's June 18th through June 23rd , 2023. This will be a week filled with many new experiences for your child. He/She will learn the many aspects of government, participate in elections of office, and compose and present legislature. He/She will have the opportunity to interact with students from other high schools throughout Rhode Island, forming new and hopefully long lasting friendships with his peers.

The cost to run this program, which includes meals, transportation, materials, and awards, is $350 per student for the week. But here’s the good news, there is no cost to you or your child to attend this program! This program is totally funded by The Rhode Island Boys’ State Committee, thanks in part to donations from local American Legion Posts and Auxiliary Units, Government Grants, donations from individual American Legion Family members and local citizens who agree how important this program is to our youth. However, should you like to make a donation to help sponsor your child, you may do so. All donations are greatly appreciated, but please do not feel obligated in any way to do so. All donations can be sent to: Rhode Island Boys’ State, PO Box 114028 , North Providence RI 02911 or to ALA Rhode Island Girls' State PO Box 6715 Warwick RI 02889(respectively)

Again, thank you for your interest, and we look forward to your son/daughter joining us for this year’s program at St. Andrew's School
